Dr. Rannveig brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the forefront of environmental stewardship.
Guðmundur Sigbergsson
Guðmundur Sigbergsson is the founder of the International Carbon Registry (ICR), driving transparency and scalability in the carbon market to ensure real climate impacts. With a background in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Iceland and advanced studies in risk management at Lund University, Guðmundur combines technical expertise with a deep commitment to climate action. Previously, he served as managing director at the Central Bank of Iceland during a pivotal period of capital control reforms and later founded iCert, a certification body acquired by EY and Deloitte. Guðmundur has also chaired technical committees on responsible offsetting and collaborated on frameworks for carbon credit issuance, including groundbreaking work with Carbfix. An advocate for sustainable innovation, Guðmundur continues to lead initiatives that align carbon markets with meaningful environmental outcomes.
