Elen Enerji Üretimi Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. invested into a hydro power plant to generate electricity and feed it into the Turkish grid. The hydro power project is plant to be built close to Gelinkaya village of Erzurum city in Turkey. The license for Gelinkaya 6.866 MW hydro project in the region of Erzurum, was issued by EMRA on March 2010. Construction work for project is finished in August 2010. The project is expected to generate 25,800 MWh of clean energy per annum. The estimated CO2 emission reductions is 14,324 tCO2e. The total crediting period of the project activity is 10 years and the corresponding emission reductions for the whole period is 143,240 tCO2e. The project’s monitoring period is the same as its crediting period, which is between 14/06/2013 and 13/06/2023 – both days included.
